ROUGE LOGAN: PART 2 of 4

After almost being exploited by an undercover Daily Bugle reporter, Logan kills the man in cold blood showing that he may be slipping back into his old dark ways. Before he decided to go on this dark journey to get back at Sabretooth, Wolverine goes the the one person who probably will give him the worst advice possible, the Superior Spider-Man!

The Ups: I said it before and I will say it again, Cornell has given me such a wonderful story where I can actually care about Wolverine, and having him go to Spider-Man for advice was just a stroke of genius. The fact that we are seeing a Wolverine who is facing his own weaknesses and death now builds for a much more complex character from what he was all these years. The interaction between Wolverine and Spider-Man was a little more man to man than I was expecting but it felt right for two guys who were always at each other throats (even after Otto took over Peter’s body) to have some heart to heart about what Wolverine can do with his life before Spider-Man goes back to being a seflish jerk. Stegman, Morales, and Curiel all say their strong art muscle with beautiful visuals throughout the issue. Even though this issue was heavy on the dialogue, just the great details on Logan’s face and other characters during certain emotional scenes helped boost the impact of the story being told making this another all around issue for the series.

Wolverine V6 #2 - Page 7The Downs: If this series keeps going in this direction I’ll never have any bad to say!

Overall: This series is definitely becoming a must read for me and in terms of story telling it might even rival Waid’s recent Daredevil run. The creative team on this book is perfect and I hope they stay together for a strong run or at least until the story they all want to tell is done.
