Red Lanterns #26 Review

Red Lanterns #26 - Page 1

Writer: Charles Soule

Artist: J. Calafiore

Colorist: Gabe Eltaeb

RED. DEAD.

“There more than one way to skin a cat. Nnnot funny. “

Guy’s plan to rid his new sector of anyone who would cause chaos has seemed to completely backfire on his and the rest of the Red’s. Now completely surrounded and fighting for their lives, will Guy get his Corps out alive or will their be some causalities along the way?!

The Ups: We all know the rings of each Corps is powered by a single emotion and the owner becomes the embodiment of that emotion and for the Red Lantern it is rage. But Soule brought out a powerful emotion you would not expect from an issue of Red Lanterns and that is sadness. I can’t really explain where the sadness comes from because it would ruin the plot of the story as we do not like to post spoilers in our reviews, but there was touching moment towards the end giving the entire cast more depth than we have seen since this series started. Calafiore and Eltaeb definitely kicked up the artwork for this issue especially when the action picked up towards the end and thanks to both of them I want someone to make a model of the Red Lanterns ship with their logo on it so I can throw my money at it.

The Downs: All good here.

Overall: Soule has written a story that hit you on all points, there’s action, sadness and even some funny dialogue between Bleez and Rankorr. With the story also progressing with Atrocitus and Dex-Starr, the Red Lantern series is really starting to pick up and everyone should be getting on this rage fueled ride.
