IN YOUR HEAD

“Please…stop…stop yelling at me! I get it!”

Stargirl and Manhunter have finally escaped the prison but for some reason Manhunter is stuck inside of Stargirl’s head! With a group of powerful villains approaching Stargirl, can Manhunter help her get out of danger before they both perish?!

The Ups: Now this is the issue for this story arc I have been waiting for. After a slow first two issues, Kindt kicks the story into high gear. The story dives into the past of Stargirl showing how the discovery of her powers affected her family life and how she really sees what her powers mean to her and the world close to her. I personally really enjoyed this because Manhunter is taking a back sit so Stargirl can shine and displaying her complex past dealing with becoming a super hero as well as what she is made of. Derenick takes on all the dark and gitty action sequences while Barrows take on the bright and somewhat cheerful flashbacks. I really enjoyed all the action sequences while a powered up Stargirl is taking on all the villains attacking her something I was waiting to see happen in this arc since it started. The color team does a wonderful job setting the mood for both the dark fight scenes with all the lightning and rain and the cheery and bright flashbacks making it a lot more settle and appealing to the eye.

The Downs: All good here!

Overall: As I said before this is the story I have been waiting for and Kindt hit it right on the head. With a gripping story with a really strong ending that has put my mind in motion to where this story is leading. With wonderful art and color from the entire art team this has been one of the best JLA’s issue since it’s debut in the New 52, make sure to pick this one up!
