Superman #24 Review

Superman #24 Cover

“Psi War: Part Three”

W: Mike Johnson A: Eddy Barrows C: Pete Pantazis

The man of steel faces off against deadly psychics who threaten Metropolis. Can the Earth’s strongest man stand against the mental might of the Psycho Pirate?

The Ups: This issue was full of amazing art and great action. Eddy Barrow’s art and Pete Pantazis colors both have this bold and vibrant quality that really brings the action scenes to life. Their art makes sense for the psionic lighting effects in this issue. Mike Johnson’s dialogue is well written and organic and each character has their own unique voice that makes the story that much easier to get lost in. This issue was full of intense mind battles, some twists here and there, and as always Superman hits stuff really hard, so prepare yourself for an exciting end to the Psi War arc.

Superman #24 Interior

The Downs: Not much changes for Superman in the end. Don’t expect any life-changing drama to occur, everything pretty much goes back to square one. While the issue doesn’t necessarily have the shock-value that some fans want out of their comics, this isn’t to say that the issue doesn’t have its climaxes.

Overall: The issue wraps up the Psi War arc nicely and delivers an exciting finale to Superman’s current adventure. This story was pretty isolated in terms of lasting changes, mostly because the ending ties up most of its loose ends. Regardless of how drastic you like your endings you should definitely be able to enjoy the ride.
