“Hey Heatwave, what’s up with  meth head Green Lantern? How is he in the Syndicate?”

With the Rogues going against the Syndicate’s order to destroy Central City, Deathstorm and Power Ring came to force the Rogues to do what they are told or kill them. Will the Rogues be able to fight the Syndicate off or will they fall victim like everyone else?!

The Ups: It just seems like the Rogues can’t catch a break but it does make for good action. I’m glad the Buccellato added all the events of Forever Evil #3 that involved the Rogues in this issue to make sure everyone is kept up to speed with the story. The inclusion of Parasite was a very interesting choice showing that all those Villains Month issues had purpose with all these older villains making their New 52 appearances in the events of Forever Evil. I am becoming a big fan of Hepburn and Filardi’s artwork, their style looks like you’re watching a cartoon and it helps the action look very fluid and impactful. These are two guys I am going to look out for in the future would love to see what they do after this story arc wraps up.

The Downs: Granted I appreciated the fact that Buccellato recapped the events of Forever Evil #3, but it takes up half the issue leaving very little to progress any new story. And what was put into the new story felt more like filler, even with the inclusion of Parasite since he wasn’t around for too long. I know Buccellato probably has a lot in store for the story arc because for me he has never disappointed me with a story so I will just hold tight for the next issue.

Overall: An action packed issue with my new favorite rag tag group of anti heroes. Not too much story but an interesting seed was planted towards the end and a hilarious poke at everyone’s new favorite tv show makes it an issue to pick up.
