Having been rumored and speculated for a number of months, “Game of Thrones” and “Conan” star Jason Momoa has officially been confirmed to play the King of Atlantis, Aquaman in “Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice.”
With rumors spreading as far back as December of 2013 when Gal Gadot was officially cast as Wonder Woman, Momoa was constantly teasing social media that he might or might not doing the role. Recently, director Zack Snyder had this to say regarding Aquaman during a morning show where the hosts were bashing the character.
“The cool thing is that with Aquaman, his trident — people don’t realize this — that could actually cut the flesh of Superman, if they came in contact. That’s a thing that’s in the canon. And he’s super-strong, because of course, he can exist at these super-deep depths, so when he comes up here it’s like he’s crazy strong. … Not to say he’s in my movie, or anything like that, he’s just pretty badass — he has the potential to be badass. That’s all I’m saying.”
“Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice” is set to be released March 25, 2016.
