Starting this November with Wonder Woman #36, the husband and wife team David and Meredith Finch will be taking over the creative process of the series as artist and writer respectively. Brian Azzarello and Cliff Chiang, who have been with the series since the start of the New 52, promise that there will be a clear and definite endpoint to their run with the series and will open the doors for Meredith and David. Once the new team picks up the series they will deviate from the focus on Greek mythology and move to make things more about Wonder Woman’s own responsibilities to her people, herself, and fellow superheroes.
David and Meredith Finch are excited to finally have a female writer writing for a very strong, iconic female character. Meredith is quoted in the article saying, “It makes sense if you’re going to try to attract that female market that you appeal to them on every level – your writing demographic reflects the demographic of your readership”, and I, for one, could not agree with her more.
