In a ComicVine article written by the creator himself, Scott Lobdell announces the end of Teen Titans. The series is to end with Teen Titans #30 and the annual. Lobdell who is a big fan of Teen Titans had this to say about it’s ending: “I’m thrilled the DC is letting me wrap up the story on a high note as the TEEN TITANS square off against the N.O.W.H.E.R.E. in a final battle — bringing to conclusion the conflict that began in the first issue!”
He goes on to thank all the people who contributed to the series. He speaks of rumors of what the future of these characters might be: “I’m very excited about the whispered rumors I’m hearing race back and forth between New York and Burbank. (Trust me when I say we haven’t seen the last of everyone’s favorite teen team adventurers)” Only time will tell what this could mean. We’ll keep an eye out for any more developments. It was pretty nice of him to write his own article on ComicVine.
Another sad news is Kyle Higgins will be leaving Nightwing after issue #29. He had announced this on his Facebook: “So here’s something I’ve put off writing for a while. On Tuesday, DC solicits for April 2014 hit. They’ll introduce a new creative team on NIGHTWING which, sadly, I won’t be a part of. It’s a weird feeling to leave the book after almost three years, and even though I would love nothing more than to write Dick Grayson for another fifty or sixty issues, it’s time to move on. (In that spirit, I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention BATMAN BEYOND 2.0 and C.O.W.L…two of the books I am currently working on, which are also– both in their own way– helping to curb the Grayson withdrawal :-)” It is sad news and he will be missed on that series. Continue to follow his writing with creator own project called C.O.W.L at Image Comics and Batman Beyond 2.0 at DC Comics.
